Alexander Allen, 35, a former Billerica police officer, was charged with aggravated rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and possession of child pornography, the Middlesex District Attorney said on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

In 2023, Allen allegedly disclosed to a then-fellow officer that he'd had sex with a teenager, the prosecutor said. Allen reportedly said he met the girl when she was 14 years old and grew close to her.

Two months before her 16th birthday, he picked her up from an appointment, drove her home, and had sex, the prosecutor said. He also asked for and received a nude photo of the child.

Allen joined the Billerica Police Department in 2018, according to a town manager's report. He finished top of his police academy class, the report said.
